A Slice Of Mike Fits

Mike Fitisemanu (or 'Fits' as he's commonly known) is the 'Business Brawn' of Crusader Marketing.

Mike Fits has the lead role in personally mentoring small business owners and helping them transform their businesses into money machines.

Mike grew up in Wellington, New Zealand and like many young kiwi lads had the makings of a superstar rugby player. Unfortunately, injury put an end to that career.

So Mike decided to drive his skills into a new direction and started up his first business. He moved to Sydney, Australia and opened a boutique security firm which supplied security services to all major recording artists who performed in Sydney during the late '80s and early '90s.

You know those big burly 7 foot ugly 'don't mess with me' guys standing between you and your favourite rock star from the 90s like Prince, Janet Jackson, Madonna and U2? – Well Mike used to call them the 'pretty boys', because they were there just for show.

Here's a trade secret from Mike, those burly 'man mountain' security gorillas aren't the real security guys! The real guys are the ones who move covertly amongst the crowds. They're half the size of the burly boys, but twice as tough – They extinguish and stamp out any signs of trouble within seconds – this was Mike's specialty.

Such was his firm's success he and his team quickly became some of the most preferred bodyguards in the industry.

But, the success came with its own problems particularly – with all sorts of characters seeking his help.

Seriously, the unbelievable stories he's lived to tell, make any Hollywood action movie look like an episode of play school.

Mike decided he'd had enough.

He'd had enough of taking crap from individuals he was protecting, (especially those he didn't even really like). And, he didn't like the way the personal security industry was turning into a modern day 'wild west'.

The environment quickly became dangerous with the sudden influx of inexperienced and gungho cowboys jumping in to make a fast buck – the likelihood of getting severely injured was extremely high.

Finally, the turning point was when a staff member was injured during an arms exercise – it was time to return to Wellington and begin a new chapter in his life – a family.

In Wellington he also returned to his boyhood love, – rugby, which had finally turned professional.

Unable to resist temptation Mike decided to give it one last shot – unfortunately the mind was willing, but the body was not.

So, this led to Mike mentoring young athletes which, naturally progressed to mentoring business owners, and helping them get over the daily grind of running their businesses.

Mike 'Fits' currently still lives in Wellington. He is happily married to Nina and is a father of three.

When he is not firing up his clients' sales and marketing he can be seen acting as chief taxi driver and secondary mediator to his children. You'll also find him training at the gym in the mornings keeping fit and healthy – trying to lose his 'gut' from too much good food.

And, on the odd winter's morning you might find him getting muddy on a rugby field with old friends trying to relive their former 'Glory Days'. They're not as fast or as trim, but they still got the skills and heart that mentally outclass any of those speedy young guns.
